Are LED Masks Safe For Eyes?

Just as our Boost LED Face Mask  benefits the complexion thanks to clinically proven red 633nm and near-infrared 830nm wavelengths, it also treats the eye area - reducing the appearance of wrinkles and improving hydration. But a question we’re constantly getting asked is, “Are LED masks safe for the eyes?”

Are LED Masks Safe For Eyes?

Simply, yes, LED masks delivering specific wavelengths are safe for the eye area, but the device must be FDA-cleared. Our Boost LED Mask has been through rigorous testing, focusing on optical output with recommended treatment times, and crafted for the professional.

Ultimately, there would need to be a significant overload or cumulative exposure to bright and high-intensity light for damage to occur. But rejuvenation LED skin treatments are simple, safe, and controlled to achieve skin goals, without any residual negative effects on the eyes. Red and Near-Infrared are on the opposite spectrum of UV light, meaning neither our in-salon treatments nor the Boost LED mask contains UV. However, if you are treating the skin with Blue LED light, it is important to protect the eyes during the full treatment time.

Is LED Light Right For Me?

To that end, the Boost LED Mask has been tested to the highest internationally recognised eye safety standards. It’s also been designed so you can multi-task whilst wearing, and therefore deemed safe to use on uncovered eyes. However, if you are sensitive to light glare, make sure to use the optional eye shields that are provided with your Mask.

How To Use An Led Mask

For best results, treat skin for a minimum of 3 to 5 days a week for 10 to penetrate deep within the dermis, stimulating collagen production and improving skin density and smoothness.
